OUR NEXT SCHEDULED CLASS IS SATURDAY, DECEMBER 5, 11AM TO 2PM AND IT'S ALL ABOUT HOLIDAY BAKING! No matter what holiday you celebrate, it's a time for mixing flour and sugar and firing up the oven to create sweet treats to enjoy yourself or share with others. Cookies and cakes make a perfect gift, and really show someone you cared enough to "do it yourself". We'll start this lesson with moist, luscious FIG AND WALNUT BISCOTTI, followed by SWEET EMPANADAS stuffed with nuts and apricot jam. Then we'll make the richest, darkest, most decadent TURTLE BROWNIES you've ever eaten! No holiday baking is complete without some gingerbread, so I'll show you a delicious BROWN SUGAR AND SPICE COOKIE, scented with ginger and cinnamon. We'll finish off with the classic Italian Christmas treat - STRUFOLI - little pillows of sweet dough, deep fried in oil and covered with honey. It's going to be a fun-filled afternoon - reserve your spot now as space is limited! Lesson is $65 per person, and you'll go home with sample cookies as well as all the recipes.

MAKING PASTA!
Have you ever wished you could cook? Or cook a little bit better than you do now? Maybe just learn a few new dishes first hand? A cooking lesson from SARABELLACooks is your answer! We give classes in my professionally equipped kitchen in Douglaston, or you can schedule a lesson in your own kitchen, with your own pots and pans, and your own utensils and oven. So when the lesson is over, you'll have no trouble replicating the recipes. We have standard lessons you can choose from, or you can customize to suit your particular needs. Each lesson lasts approximately 3 hours, depending on the menu, and is completely hands on. Here are some ideas:
PASTA CLINIC You'll learn to make Basic Pasta Dough, Semolina Pasta and Potato Gnocchi. We'll use your new found pasta skills to make Spinach and Ricotta Ravioli (wait till you see what you can do with the leftover pasta scraps!!), Cavatelli Calabrese, with a ragu of sausage, tomato and cream, and Potato Gnocchi with parmigiano cream.
AUTUMN SOUPS AND STEWS Learn to make the dishes that'll keep you warm while a chill is in the air. We'll make Split Pea with Smoked Bacon; Escarole, Meatball and White Bean Soup, Butternut Squash Soup and a Chicken and Potato "Stew". Guaranteed to warm and comfort! (All dishes can be converted to vegetarian upon request)
